About Us

Tera Insights is a software company based in Gainesville, Florida, founded in 2012 by faculty members from the University of Florida. In partnership with the University of Florida, Tera Insights developed tiCrypt to provide a secure and compliant environment for data analysis and collaboration. The project originated from a 2014 prototype file-sharing system based on public-key cryptography and evolved into a scalable secure enclave designed to support sensitive research and regulated workloads. tiCrypt is in production since 2017 and has passed numerous external NIST 800-171/CMMC evaluations ever since.

Most cybersecurity vendors specialize in a single layer of the stack - for example, Duo in authentication, VMware in virtualization, or Citrix in connectivity. Tera Insights takes a different approach by providing a single, integrated solution that combines secure networking, end-to-end encryption, controlled compute environments, and comprehensive logging and auditing.

By unifying these components into one platform, Tera Insights leverages deep, domain-specific expertise across security architecture, cryptography, and systems engineering to eliminate the complexity, integration burden, and operational friction typically faced by organizations working with sensitive or regulated data.

The platform is used by institutions including Princeton University, Dartmouth College, and Harvard Medical School, and is deployed on institutional supercomputers. While tiCrypt has been adopted primarily by research institutions to date, its hardware-agnostic, compliance-driven architecture was designed to support secure workflows in regulated environments, including defense manufacturing.
